Volcanoes


Volcanoes, what are they?

A volcano is a fracture or opening.

in the earth’s crust, through

which molten rock escapes and erupts,

turning into lava as it seeps down the volcano.


Facts!

  • Volcanoes are either a result or

cause for other natural disasters E . G Tsunamis, Earthquakes.

  • Volcanoes have 3 stages Active (erupting), Dormant (sleeping but can wake up any minute) and Extinct (dead, will probably never erupt again)
  • There is a area known as “Ring Of Fire” on the Ring of Fire (the edges of a few tectonic plates) lyes 70% of the world's volcanoes (at least on land, there are countless others underwater.
